Healthy Lamb Kabsa


Ingredients


  1. Imtenan Lemon Black Pepper
  2. Imtenan Kabsa Spices
  3. Imtenan Himalayan Salt
  4. Imtenan Brown Rice
  5. Imtenan Olive Oil
  6. Ghee
  7. Chopped Onion
  8. 1 kg Lamb
  9. Imtenan Cardamom
  10. Imtenan Bay Leaves
  11. Garlic
  12. Tomato Juice/Sauce
  13. Optional Hot Pepper
  14. Blanched and Peeled Almonds for garnish

Steps


  1. Heat olive oil and ghee in a pot over medium heat, then add chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
  2. Add meat and brown it well on all sides.
  3. Add garlic, lemon, black pepper, Kabsa spices, cardamom, bay leaves, and Himalayan salt and sauté for a few minutes to let the meat absorb the spices.
  4. Add tomato juice or sauce with enough water, and simmer until the meat is fully cooked (about 45–60 minutes depending on the size of the meat).
  5. Add washed brown rice, then cover and cook on low heat until the rice absorbs the liquid and is tender (about 20–25 minutes).
  6. Optional: add hot pepper to taste.
  7. Serve the Kabsa on a serving platter and garnish with blanched and peeled almonds.
